FREE Hawaiian Vow Renewal at the Outrigger Hotels and Resort in Waikiki.
Last year my husband and I participated in the Valentine’s Day Vow Renewal at Outrigger right after he returned from a 7 month deployment. He arrived home on February 5th from deployment and February 13th we spent the night in Waikiki at the Outrigger to wake up early on Valentine’s Day to participate on renewing our vows in a Hawaiian traditional ceremony. The Outrigger Waikiki Hotels and Resorts has certain days every week they do the traditional Hawaiian Vow Renewal ceremony for hotel guest and they offer a huge Valentine’s Day renewal. The event starts at 730am on Valentine’s Day and you will be finished by 930am (if not earlier). You just have to register at least one full day ahead of time. The number to register is below.
We had my daughter, Avery attend with us. Since the event starts at 730am we thought it was a great idea to just eliminate the travel time and spend the night prior to the event at the hotel. We spent the evening before exploring Waikiki and of course after the event we explored Waikiki more. There was a ton of families that were just heading to lunch afterwards either at the property or in Waikiki. They do validate parking as well if you participate, I believe it was for 4 hours. This is helpful in case you have friends or someone you want to come take pictures. The Vow Renewal was a learning experience in the Hawaiian culture, it was fun and best of all it was FREE!
The Vow Renewal is kid friendly so you can bring your kids as well. I brought Avery which Kevin and I took turns holding her throughout the ceremony. Many families participated.
If you have yet to plan anything for Valentine’s Day I recommend doing this. It is one of those events that will stick with you. At the end of the ceremony, you will take pictures you can purchase and you get a free glass of bubbles to celebrate. You do not need to purchase the pictures. I do recommend if you want pictures to purchase from the photographer or bring a friend along that can take pictures of your vow renewal. The pictures we purchased are below.

You DO need to stay to participate. At least is what their page says.
Try calling. We originally were not staying but I did let them know my husband was returning from deployment. Doesn’t hurt to ask.
