MEL SCIENCE STEM Kids Subscription Box Review
A couple weeks ago we received our MEL Science Kids box with two stem kits. Avery and I recently did our first kit which was the Electric Boat. This was such a fun way to sit down and talk about science in a fun way. The instruction manual had a cute comic book for Avery to read. Then it had the instructions to build the Electric Boat. Plus a small science lesson. After we built the toy we tested the boat in a bath tub.
Above is a picture of Avery and her dad doing the electronics to the boat. He was explaining about positive and negative charge and color of the wires. MEL Science does an amazing job with introducing kids to STEM in a fun educational way. The toys are set up where they need very little help from a parent. However, Kevin really wanted to explain the color of the wires and how to match them.
At the end of the instruction manual is a small science lesson to explain further about the experiment. Now it was on to test our build…
Look it floated and the electronics worked the first time. It was really cool and fun to see how excited Avery was to see her MEL Science Electric Boat work.
As you probably know by now, I love subscription kits. They make my life so much easier from not having to research activities, prepare a shopping list and actually find the time to go shopping. With homeschooling this past year, I wanted to find educational fun activities to do during the summer. The kit I ordered from Mel Science is MEL Kids. Depending on your child’s age MEL Science has different science kits from MEL Chemistry (Ages 10+ at $26.20 a month), MEL Physics (Ages 8+ at $34.90 a month) and MEL Kids (Ages 5+ $34.90 a month).
I love educational kits as they teach and also entertain. Avery is my child that needs projects or something to do all the time. These kits are awesome at helping keep her entertained throughout Summer. A plus to these kits is that as an adult, I usually have just as much fun as the kids doing these. I cannot wait to do these MEL Science kits this week.
