Red Roof Plus+ Hotel Room Review
As many know, we are on a cross country road trip Permeant Change of Station (PCS) move from California to Georgia. We have stopped at many places along the way including the Grand Canyon, Albuquerque and more – go HERE to see the update and stay tune as a new update will be posted soon!
In Irondale, Alabama, we had the pleasure of staying in a newly remodeled Red Roof Plus+ hotel room. Irondale, Alabama, was just outside of Birmingham, Alabama. I prefer staying outside of big cities to avoid traffic. The hotel was conveniently located right off the freeway and near a ton of restaurants.
As we checked into the Red Roof Plus+ lobby, I noticed how new the entire lobby was. I also noticed the cute sitting area in the lobby with a fireplace. The lobby had coupons for Krystal’s and a few other nearby restaurants. We didn’t need to go out to eat since we were at my family’s house earlier in the day and packed a cooler of home cooked meals. We did forget plates, but was able to get three in the lobby.
We stayed in a Premium King room which comfortably slept the three of us. My favorite feature about the room was no carpet and all modern wood-like flooring. The room had a coffee pot with Seattle’s Best coffee, a microwave and a mini fridge. The premium room came with a snack box filled with a bottle water, juice, popcorn, trail mix and granola bars. Another awesome feature about the suite was the bathtub. A bathtub might seem like such a little thing, but so many hotels do not offer bathtubs anymore. If you are traveling with toddlers a bathtub is important since a majority toddlers prefer baths than showers. Also the room had a towel bar for hand towels; again seems like a little thing but so many rooms we have stayed in had no where for a hand towel to hang to dry hands. See video below:
We slept well in the king sized Rest Suite bed by Serta. It was very comfy and perfect for this 8 month pregnant lady! In the morning, we showered, packed up and headed to the lobby to eat breakfast. I will say out of all the hotels we have stayed at this was probably the best breakfast we had at a hotel. The breakfast options were cereal, oatmeal, waffles, sausage, biscuits, gravy, eggs, toast, muffins, coffee, orange juice, apple juice and more! We then went back to our room to pack the car up, and head to our next destination, Augusta, Georgia.
